It's OK To Not Be OK

Recently, on our Instagram, @WTFdivorce, many of you out there shared your anonymous confessions.

Things you needed to get off of your chest.

And, DAMN. Let's do that more often!

I think it was meaningful to all of us.

Don't you feel less alone??? I know I do.

Sometimes we need to say the heavy stuff, the scary stuff, the WTF stuff.

Sometimes we need to have a laugh at the absurdity of it all.

And sometimes we just need to know someone else 'get's it.'

Everyone involved in WTFdivorce wants to reassure you:

You are not alone!

We see you.

We know this day-to-day struggle drains every bit of energy out of you.

The chaos feels non-stop. The to-do list keeps growing faster and longer.

You miss parts of your pre-divorce life.

And let's face it... the loneliness of a quiet house or apartment, where no one waits for you to get home...

it's heart-wrenching.

I will not sugar coat it right now.

IT IS OKAY

TO NOT BE OKAY.

Seriously, let yourself say it out loud. Or start out by saying it to yourself, in your head.

I recently said this to myself all day, over and over again. And guess what? It helped.

Accepting myself where I am. Being honest with myself. Not judging myself.

That's why I decided to share this with all of you who probably 'get it.'

Wherever you find yourself on your journey...

IT IS OK

TO NOT BE OK.

I know I'll be ok someday -- and you will too.

ONE LAST THING:

If you're able to vent to a friend or loved one, PLEASE do it.

Just say it. "I'm not ok... do you mind if I vent a little bit?"

Chances are they'll say yes. Continue to get it out of your system any way you choose, and to any trusted person you can.
